H.E István Szabó Ambassador of Hungary, as the chief guest, attended the National Model United Nations Competition event organized by Marwadi University and gave a welcome speech, than met with the leaders of the institution in Rajkot.
This is the first event of its kind in the history of Marwadi University, intending to create a tradition. Its purpose is to give university students the opportunity to develop their diplomatic and negotiation skills, to get to know and modelling the United Nations, and to get an overview of the challenges of international diplomacy, to acquire the necessary skills on how to participate in it, and last but not least, to get to know the world's great challenges and the ways to solve them.
In his speech, the Ambassador drew attention to the importance of international dialogue. He said that the key to a successful diplomatic career is primarily an understanding of worldwide problems, knowledge of languages, good negotiation skills, critical thinking, and getting to know and understand other cultures. The ambassador emphasized the results of the diplomatic relations between the India and Hungary, and pointed out that education and science are two successful areas where our countries have excellent cooperation. He also praised Marwadi University's excellent relations with Hungary.
After the opening ceremony, the Ambassador met with the top management of the university. At the meeting, the parties expressed their great pleasure about the extensive relations Marwadi University has managed to build with Hungarian universities in the past 6 years. It was concluded that Marwadi University is currently the institution with the widest relations with Hungary in India.
