Ms. Katalin Novák became the first female president of Hungary

On March 10, 2022, the Hungarian Parliament elected a new President of the Republic in the person of Ms. Katalin Novák, the first female President of Hungary. The Parliament decided by secret voting on the person of the new head of state, and after the announcement of the final result, the elected President took the oath of allegiance. The President of the Republic is elected by Parliament for five years. Katalin Novák will take up her office on 10 May 2022.

Concluding of a research collaboration agreement between the Wigner Institute and IIT Indore

On September 7, 2021, the Wigner Physics Research Center of the Eötvös Loránd Research Network and the Indian Institute of Technology Indore signed a cooperation agreement on a joint research program. The agreement provides an opportunity for students and researchers from the two institutes to participate in the ongoing research, mainly in high-energy nuclear and particle physics, and provides a framework for further cooperation and researcher exchanges between the institutes.

Greetings to ERASMUS MUNDUS students from India

India is almost consistently the largest beneficiary of the EU Erasmus program among third countries. In the autumn of 2021, 153 students will leave for 20 EU countries and the UK under the ERESMUS MUNDUS program. Among them, two students chose Hungary in the first place, four students targeted Hungary as the second goal, and two again in the third place.
